“I decided to express my creative skills in the format of a dental office,” says Dr. Anna Vasilev, Doctor of Dental Medicine at Arnica Dental Care. Much like a sculptor who has a superior sense of aesthetics to make a smile as perfect as it can be, Dr. Anna Vasilev is indeed a fine artist in the world of dentistry. She affirms that one cannot separate a patient’s functional well-being from aesthetics. “Aesthetics is very important because it contributes to mental health, so if everything looks nicer, you feel better about yourself; it makes you happier.”
Dr. Vasilev has trained throughout the world, seeking inspiration for her art. Growing up in Russia, she often assisted her father, who is an oral surgeon. She first graduated from Voronezh State Medical University in Russia, and after moving to the US was accepted into the top-rated Ivy League school of dental medicine at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania.
Arnica Dental Care was Dr. Vasilev’s vision to bring her patients the best treatment, both medically and aesthetically. This new practice gives her the freedom to create smiles using the quality materials she knows would suit her clients best, in combination with her own style, which she describes as uniquely European. “I created an environment that I wanted my patients to experience,” she said. This includes being welcomed into a comfortable, elegant environment for a relaxed experience. “What we do is treat the whole patient. . . not just teeth.”
At Arnica Dental Care, Dr. Vasilev believes that proper treatment starts with an accurate diagnosis. She is grateful that BankMD gave her the ability to invest in state-of-the-art equipment, such as the cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) machine used for 3-D imaging. This enables her to pinpoint exact conditions such as temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) and sinus problems, or infections that may mimic other problems.
Other quality equipment was essential to include in her new practice. For example, she offers a comprehensive variety of cutting-edge remedies including hyperpolarized light therapy and ozone treatment. Her new same-day crown machines help patients get procedures done more quickly. In the area of restorative dentistry, she performs fillings, crowns, bridges, and implant restorations. She also performs some surgical procedures herself, inclusive of wisdom teeth extractions.
Dr. Vasilev appreciated that BankMD made her loan experience pleasant and straightforward. This included supporting her as a young professional who also needed to make time for her three children.
